Wakefield Trinity RLFC – Super League Rugby Stadium Lighting Project
Wakefield Trinity RLFC – Super League Rugby Stadium Lighting Project
At Luminous Solutions we were tasked with creating a competitive Lighting Solution for the upgrade of Wakefield Trinity’s Old Metal Halide Lighting, to a New Led System.
The task was to meet the min 1200 lux required at pitch level and 800 lux vertical, to meet Super League Standards.
With this in mind, we partnered with our trusted supplier/installation professionals at Halliday Lighting using the latest High Specification Philips Sports Floodlighting.
The main challenge was to remove the old metal halide lamps and floods (to which we worked with the owners to be re-used on other rugby league stadiums locally), to remove the existing masts which had surpassed their rated life of 25 years. After numerous specialist in-depth surveys were completed on the foundations, new columns were designed and made bespoke to reduce the overall mounting height of the lighting, therefore reducing the overall impact to the neighboring properties.
The team at Halliday installed the 4 columns and 80 floodlights over a few months throughout the Super League season with no impact to the club, making sure all the lighting installed was working for night matches.
Project Value £300k-£500k – A big thank you to the team at Halliday for their support and efficient installation, supported by the team at Philips.
The results look superb, another great project co-designed & supplied by the team at Luminous Solutions.
